The Hitachi 0.3T Airis Elite Open MRI is an advanced, low-field magnetic resonance imaging system known for its patient-friendly open design and solid imaging capabilities. Designed with a 0.3 Tesla vertical field permanent magnet, it offers high uniformity and optimised imaging, making it a great choice for patients who need a less restrictive imaging experience. The open design is particularly beneficial for those with claustrophobia, as well as larger patients, providing them with a more comfortable environment without sacrificing diagnostic accuracy.

    Key Features

    • Permanent Magnet Design: The vertical field magnet combined with higher-order active shim technology provides a highly homogeneous imaging volume. This is crucial for maintaining image quality and consistency, especially important in low-field systems.
    • Open Architecture: The asymmetric two-post open design allows for more room around patients, making it ideal for those who may feel anxious or restricted in traditional MRI machines.
    • Advanced Gradient and RF Systems: The Airis Elite includes a Scalable Dual Quad (SDQ) RF system, which elevates signal reception and overall image quality. The gradient system, with a maximum amplitude of 21 mT/m and a slew rate of 55 T/m/s, ensures efficient and high-resolution imaging, which helps it compete effectively with higher-field systems.
    • Patient Comfort and Positioning: This MRI includes three-axis motorised movement and simplified control mechanisms to make patient positioning easier, increasing overall efficiency. It also features laser-guided positioning and motorised table movements, all designed to enhance the patient experience and improve workflow.

    Applications

    • Neurological Imaging: The Airis Elite is suitable for brain and spine imaging, helping to detect conditions like spinal cord abnormalities, brain tumors, and other neurological disorders.
    • Musculoskeletal Imaging: The system is frequently used for musculoskeletal imaging, providing detailed images of joints, muscles, and ligaments, which is particularly useful for diagnosing injuries or degenerative conditions.
    • Whole-Body and Pediatric Imaging: Its versatility allows it to be used in whole-body scans, including for pediatric patients who benefit from the open design that allows for more comfort and visibility during the scan.
