A new breakthrough in cat scans. The Siemens Sensation CT is a series of advanced multi-slice computed tomography (CT) scanners developed by Siemens Healthineers. These scanners are known for their high-speed imaging, superior resolution, and advanced technology that significantly improves diagnostic accuracy.

The Sensation CT series was designed to handle a variety of medical imaging needs, including cardiac imaging, angiography, neurological studies, and oncology.

    Key Features

    1. Multi-Slice Technology. The Siemens Sensation series offers multi-slice capabilities, ranging from 16 slices in earlier models (like the Sensation 16) to up to 64 slices in the Sensation 64 model. This allows for faster image acquisition and greater detail, improving the ability to capture dynamic structures, such as the heart and blood vessels.

    2. Fast Scanning Speed. The Sensation CT scanners are equipped with high-speed rotation, enabling faster scanning times. This reduces motion artifacts and allows for clearer images, especially important in cardiac and trauma imaging.

    3. High Image Resolution. With submillimeter slice thickness, the Sensation CT produces high-resolution images that allow for detailed visualization of even the smallest structures in the body. This is critical for diagnosing conditions like cardiovascular diseases, tumors, and neurological disorders.

    4. Cardiac Imaging. The Sensation 64 model, in particular, is widely used for cardiac CT angiography. Its ability to capture 64 slices per rotation makes it ideal for non-invasive heart imaging, helping to assess coronary artery disease and other cardiac issues.

    5. Dose Reduction Technologies. Siemens incorporated CareDose4D, an intelligent dose management system, which automatically adjusts the radiation dose based on the patient’s anatomy, reducing unnecessary exposure without compromising image quality.

    6. 3D and 4D Imaging. The Sensation series supports advanced 3D and 4D image reconstructions, making it useful for complex medical cases and surgeries where detailed anatomical visualization is essential.

    7. Wide Clinical Applications. The Siemens Sensation CT series can be used for a wide range of clinical applications, from routine diagnostic imaging to more complex imaging like vascular studies, oncology assessments, and pulmonary function analysis.

    Application

    • Cardiac CT. With fast rotation times and advanced image clarity, the Sensation series is particularly effective for non-invasive coronary artery imaging.
    • Oncology. The high-resolution imaging makes it valuable for detecting and monitoring tumors, as well as planning radiation therapy.
    • Trauma. In emergency rooms, the quick scan times allow for fast diagnosis of trauma patients, improving response time for life-saving interventions.
    • Neurology. It is used to assess neurological conditions such as stroke, aneurysms, and brain tumors.
