A legend in tomography. The GE ProSpeed “i” Series CT is a multi-slice computed tomography scanner developed to balance between high-performance imaging with cost-effectiveness. This system, which was introduced in the 1990s, came equipped with features such as providing efficient and reliable diagnostic imaging.

It provides dual-slice capability, enabling one to do fast scanning for better clarity in the image output compared to the single-slice CT. The system also supports various new, advanced clinical applications: the 65-cm gantry aperture for much easier patient access and scan speeds of 1 to 2 seconds per 360-degree rotation.

It has also been very useful in settings where high-quality CT imaging at less expense is required, such as smaller clinics or outpatient facilities. The solid-state detectors further improve image quality with advanced reconstruction algorithms at comparably low doses of radiation.

Clinical applications supported by the ProSpeed “i” Series range from neurological to cardiovascular and musculoskeletal studies.
