GE LightSpeed CT

The GE LightSpeed CT series, introduced in the early 2000s, marked a significant advancement in computed tomography (CT) imaging. The 2005 models, including the LightSpeed 4, 16, and VCT 64-slice scanners, offered varying capabilities to meet diverse clinical needs.

The 16-slice model enhanced imaging capabilities, allowing for faster acquisition times and improved image resolution. It incorporated a compact, air-cooled Helios gantry with a 70cm aperture and ±30° gantry tilt, facilitating versatile patient positioning. The system supported 360° scans in as little as 0.5 seconds and included features like Smart Prep for contrast monitoring and Smart Speed for scan time enhancement, making it suitable for a wide range of clinical applications.
